15 Why can't I send email?

Answer

Cybershore only permits outbound (SMTP) traffic through the servers if the sender gets their Internet connection from Cybershore. This is to prevent something called relaying.

If a server is marked as having open relays, blocking list services will mark it as a threat and add the server to their list causing critical email problems. Imagine if Hotmail or AOL used that blocking list. No Cybershore customers would be able to send mail to AOL or Hotmail as well as 1000's of other servers.

Nearly all connection providers have SMTP servers. Contact your connection provider to find out what you should use for your outbound email.

All Cybershore customers connecting with us, should use SMTP.cshore.com (DSL) for the outgoing mail server or smtp.popsite.net for dial-up users.
